My Neighborhood Help System

This website was developed for the citizens of Marion County by the City of Indianapolis/Marion County GIS. The purpose of the website is to provide generalized neighborhood and address specific information related to resources available to citizens living in a particular area of Marion County. The City/County has formed a partnership with The Polis Center and Connect2Help to provide information contained in datasets not currently maintained by the City/County.

This page provides a brief description of the tools available on this portal.

Neighborhood Search
The main tools are located on the left side and provide the user with the ability to search neighborhood information based on different criterias such as: By Address, By Neighborhood Name or by a Location on the map.
Steps:
1. When searching by address or neighborhood name, type an address or select the neighborhood name from the list and click the GO button.
2. When finding a neighborhood by a location on the map, select the push pin button and click anywere on the 'Find a Neighborhood on Map' map.

Map Tools
On the main map, the user will have the ability to zoom in, zoom out, move around the map and zoom to the map full extent.
Steps:
1. Click the tool you want to use.
2. When using the Zoom In and Zoom Out tools, draw a rectable on the map where you want to zoom. When using the Move Map tool, drag the map on the desired location. When clicking the Full Extent tool, the map will be automatically zoom to the full extent.

Additional Tools
A map legend is available under the Map Legend Tab. The legend allows the user to turn map layers on and off.
